It is with extreme pride, gratitude, and humility that Hillsborough Lodge No. 25, F. & A.M., accepts the Proclamation dated November 29th, 2010, from Mayor Pam Iorio and the citizens of Tampa. The Proclamation declares November 30th of every calendar year to be Hillsborough Lodge #25 Day in the great City of Tampa.

The Proclamation was presented to the Lodge on family night, November 30th, 2010, by Brother Daniel Blair.

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Hillsborough Lodge #25, F&AM was founded in 1850 and is celebrating over 160 years of being a cornerstone in our community. As the most respected Masonic lodge in the State of Florida, Hillsborough Lodge touts an impressive and historic cathedral-like building in downtown Tampa which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places;
and

WHEREAS, boasting the largest membership of any lodge in Florida (well over 1000 Masons) its membership roster includes many namesakes in Hillsborough County and the State of Florida, including many Governors, Senators, Representatives, City of Tampa Mayors, Commissioners, Judges, and a very long list of other community leaders and
philanthropists, as well as having been involved in the founding of the city of Tampa; and

WHEREAS, from the very beginning and continuing through the modern day, Hillsborough Lodge #25 has been an important pillar of the City of Tampa, exhibiting a deep desire to serve community and its residents, most especially through application of the Masonic teachings of relief, truth, and brotherly love. Relief, in pledging to always help others; Truth in all action; Brotherly Love, in affirming that all of mankind is created equal; and

WHEREAS, with a seemingly unending list of charitable efforts, Hillsborough Lodge #25 is well known for its philanthropy including providing a number of college scholarships to local students, helping to fund local schools, and regularly contributing to a wide variety of other causes benefiting children, abused women, the elderly, medical research, hospitals and the less fortunate of our local area; and

WHEREAS, in celebration of this anniversary, Hillsborough Lodge #25 is hosting an open Family & Friends Night on November 30 and the City of Tampa is pleased to recognize this milestone in their history and the important contributions the members have made to our community.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Pam Iorio, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Tampa, Florida do hereby proclaim November 30, 2010 as

“HILLSBOROUGH LODGE #25 DAY”

in the City of Tampa, Florida and urge all residents to join me in honoring all those members, both past and present, for their efforts to improve the quality of life in our city.
