The Grand Master's motto for this year is "Masons Always Rise to the Occasion." The Declaration of Independence, written primarily by Thomas Jefferson, was adopted on July 4, 1776. There were nine Masons who signed it, declaring that the 13 American Colonies were no longer under rule of the British empire. Just as the Masons who signed this declaration rose to fight for our freedom, so should we rise to support and protect our Masonic Fraternity.

| Masonic Leadership Training |
Brothers, The Grand Lodge of Florida, under leadership of the Grand Master Most Worshipful Jim J Harris, has continued the leadership program for all Masons in Florida started by Most Worshipful J. Dick Martinez. It is a comprehensive training program that has replaced the Wardens Workshop. It is designed to prepare all officers and Master Masons to occupy the Master's chair in the East and properly administer their particular Lodge. The Chairman and Committeemen for the Masonic Leadership Training Workshops in each zone have been appointed by the Grand Lodge for a three year term to achieve the necessary results. Below is the schedule of upcoming workshop dates for Zone 6, including address and contact information for each location. All Master Masons are encouraged to attend; all Officers of particular Lodges in this Zone are expected.
