Brother Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Jr., better known as "Buzz", was born on January 20, 1930 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. He is a graduate of West Point, and served our country in the United States Air Force as a fighter pilot. He was selected as part of the NASA crew for the Apollo 11 mission. On July 20, 1969, he was the second astronaut to ever walk on the surface of the Moon. Brother Aldrin is a member of Montclair Lodge No. 144, New Jersey, and a 32° Scottish Rite Mason. He was the recipient of the Knights Templar Cross of Honor in 1969.
