Initially formed in Dublin, Ireland, June 18, 1923, the Grand Council of the Order of Knight Masons exists to govern what was previously referred to as the "Green Degrees". These degrees had been under the control of the Order of Knights Templar in Ireland. Brought to the United States by Brother Shute, the Grand Council of Knight Masons U.S.A. was formed on February 18, 1967, and confers four degrees.
