Similar to the Allied Masonic Degrees, the Grand College of Rites is the repository of extinct rituals. While none of the degrees are exemplified, they are published in the annual volume, or Collectanea. The Grand College of Rites was formed in Washington, D.C., on May 12, 1932, by nine Brothers. The purpose of the college is to study Masonic organizations not associated with recognized bodies in the U.S., prevent attempts to resurrect such bodies, and preserve and record such rituals. Membership in the Grand College of Rites is open to all Master Masons in good standing.
