The Anchor and the Ark are Masonic emblems of a well-grounded hope and a well-spent life. As we travel on the level of time, the Ark is emblematical of our safe journey through troubled world, while the anchor keeps our hope in immortality of the soul and life thereafter. The Ark is particularly important in Freemasonry and in Christianity. The Anchor and the Ark symbols are explained in the third, or Master Mason degree.
